Dane Theo Jorgensen added a World Poker Tour title to his resume with a win in Paris this weekend.
The 2008 World Series of Poker Europe bracelet winner moved into the chip lead at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris just as the final table was set and never really looked back.
“Wow, I’m on top of the world,” said Jorgensen. “It means so much to win a WPT title.”
He pushed past a final table that included former EPT Prague winner Arnaud Mattern, Swedes Per Linde and Jimmy Ostensson and four Frenchman to book the €633,902 win, bringing his career earnings up to $2.3 million.
Jorgensen lost the chip lead at one point during the final table before doubling through Antoine Amourette to take control again. In the end, he beat Amourette heads-up.
The Grand Prix de Paris’ return to the WPT schedule drew 247 players to the famed Aviation Club de France on the Champs-Elysées, creating a prize pool worth more than €2.3 million.
Next up on the WPT schedule is the WPT Spanish Championship in Barcelona, set for May 19-23.
