The national lottery Milli Piyango is to be privatized in near future and the bids were called from different competitors. So the OPAP is well known as the leading the online gambling company of the Greek and placed their bid for the particular project recently. Also the leading mobile phone operator of the turkey – the turkcell is the competitor of the OPAP and they have made a separate bid for the particular project.

The tender was designed to privatize the administration of the lottery for a period of 10 years and they still have not made a selection. The reason is that a large number of corporate people are involved on this activity and the decision must take carefully. Any how the decision will be released in very soon as the new administration party needs to start their operation soon.

When compare these two bidders, both of them own a large number of shares on major projects in Greek. As an example, the OPAP is a major partner of lots of Turkish companies Dogus, (the owners of Garanti bank), FIBA group and much more.

When consider on the turkcell it also has lot of shares on major project carried out in Greek.

So since both parties are in a perfect condition to provide a proper administration for the national lottery and the final decision is up to the owners of the national lottery. Anyhow whoever wins the bid; they have to adhere to the standards of the lottery and needs to continue them throughout the contract period. So it will be a challenging thing for both two parties and both parties are well aware on the situation.
