The Moneymaker Effect owes its existence to one Chris Moneymaker, a former accountant turned world poker champion when he won the 2003 World Series of Poker main event and $2.5 million. Moneymaker is one of the first of many poker insiders that will appear on the show, which will be broadcast online from ESPN, the official broadcasters of the WSOP.

Many poker pros will be putting their thoughts before US lawmakers in the near future, hoping to change some minds in the nation’s capital of Washington, D.C. As the sponsor of the 2009 WSOP is Jack Links Beef Jerky, it makes a sort of sense that they would use their current mascot, the legendary big foot (which also goes by the name Sasquach) to say Shuffle Up and Deal.
